
Cellist Michael Haas is an experienced performer of orchestral and chamber music, frequently appearing in New York City and around the country. Recent chamber music performances include Shulamit Ran's Soliloquy on the Music at the Bowery series in Manhattan's East Village, the Kodaly Duo at the Society for Ethical Culture, and a performance Messiaen's Quartet for the End of Time in Alice Tully Hall. Mr. Haas is the founding cellist of the New York-based Tessera Quartet, which will be performing this season on the Music at the Bowery series and at Connecticut College. He has also performed on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center as part of its Conservatory Project and gave a recital of chamber music with Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center members Ida Kavafian and Steven Tenenbom at the Marine Barracks in Washington D.C. In the summer of 2008 Mr. Haas performed at the Yellow Barn music festival in Putney, Vermont, the Tanglewood Music Center, and worked as operations manager at the Canandaigua LakeMusic Festival. He has also appeared at the Taos and Music from Angel Fire festivals in New Mexico.
